Four people lie on mats in a peaceful yoga class, eyes closed. Green plants and candles decorate the bright room, creating a calming vibe.
Breathwork class.

The powerful practice of Breathwork absolutely transformed my mental and physical health whilst I endured the debilitating effects of Long Covid. I was determined not to allow my inability to do all the things that kept me “alive”, to take over and push me back into the dark hole I found myself in during my late 30s, whilst I battled serious illness.

I used to believe that I found Breathwork, but really Breathwork found me.

Mental Health Awareness Month felt like the perfect time to share my story in the hope that it inspires others to see that there is a way out of the pain, the stress, the sleepless nights. Whatever you’re going through, Breathwork will always be there for you.

My story: Breathwork transformed my mental health.

Breathwork not only aided my recovery but has become a cornerstone of my mental and physical well-being. Now a certified Oxygen Advantage Advanced Breathwork Coach & Wim Hof Method Instructor, I am dedicated to guiding others on their wellness journey, demonstrating how intentional, conscious breathing techniques can reduce stress, enhance resilience, and foster a profound sense of inner strength and calm.

Like many others, my story exemplifies the life-changing potential of Breathwork in achieving mental clarity and emotional balance.

Deepen your practice with us

We’re now over halfway through the ‘31 Days of Breath and Cold Exposure ~ a journey through May’ that we’ve been hosting on Instagram. During this journey, we’ve been exploring how setting aside just 5 minutes a day can shift your whole nervous system.

This journey was created to help you to press pause, reset, and reconnect with your breath, one day at a time. No long meditations, no fancy routines. Just a few minutes of simple, powerful breathwork that you can do in your kitchen, car, shower… wherever life meets you.

If you’re new to Breathwork, this is a great way to get started. Join in anytime by going back to our Instagram highlight ‘31 Days Journey’ to start on Day 1.

Breathwork for stress relief and improved mood

Breathwork offers an immediate pathway to relaxation, helping to quiet the mind and release built-up tension. As you breathe with intention, your body naturally activates its D.O.S.E—dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins—showering your system with mood-enhancing chemicals.

The result?

A calmer nervous system, a brighter outlook, more energy, and a clearer mind. Whether you're managing daily stress or seeking more emotional balance, breathwork is a powerful ally for mental well-being.

Unlock inner strength through your Breath

When you come to one of our classes, you’ll learn how Breathwork has a powerful impact on mental health by directly influencing the autonomic nervous system, which regulates stress and emotional responses, switching on the “rest & digest” mode, and more importantly, turning off that “flight or flight” response.

Practicing Breathwork regularly or making it a part of your daily wellness ritual brings a wealth of health benefits that extend beyond your mental health, including:

~ Reduces Stress and Anxiety: Slow, deep breathing activates that parasympathetic nervous system (the "rest and digest" mode), which lowers cortisol levels and calms the mind.

~ Improves Emotional Regulation: Conscious breathing increases awareness of thoughts and emotions, helping you respond rather than react to stressors.

~ Enhances Mental Clarity and Focus: Oxygenating the brain through breathwork boosts cognitive function and helps clear mental fog.

~ Helps create more energy: Breathwork delivers a rush of new oxygen to every cell in the body, giving you an instant energy boost. Certain breathwork practices trigger the release of hormones that stimulate the production of red blood cells, which in turn, enhance the body’s oxygen-carrying capacity, boosting energy and endurance.

~ Promotes Better Sleep: Regular breathwork balances the nervous system and can ease insomnia by calming a racing mind.

As always, breathe well!
